Imagine being on a roller coaster and you’re at the top about to come down. You start to panic and freak out because you’re afraid of heights and roller coasters. Then suddenly you remember why you got on in the first place. You remember that you decided that you wanted to face your fear once and for all.
When you get caught up in life always remember to ask yourself, why? It’s important to know why you are doing the things that you are doing. Sometimes we get lost in the chaos of life and we loss touch with our overall life motives.
It’s important to always have good and positive motives. Your overall motives should represent the big picture in your life. They should attribute to your overall life goals and dreams.
Just last week I experienced this very dilemma. It actually involved my next move with this site and blog. I was unsure of how I wanted to proceed. I was overthinking the situation and having anxiety over it. Then I remembered my why.
I was on the phone with my mom talking to her about my issues. I was trying to be so careful about what the next step should be. I was overthinking the situation to an extreme. I was even questioning myself on whether I should take this site down all together for good.
Then I remembered the reason why I started writing in the first place. I write because I love it. I write because it’s my passion and it makes me happy. Success with it would be really nice, but ultimately I do it because it puts a smile on my face.
After coming to this realization and seeing the big picture, everything started to be more clear to me. I made some big decisions that I feel very confident about because I knew what my motives were.
The truth is that we’re all human and sometimes we make mistakes. Sometimes we need to pause and revisit why we’re doing something in the first place.
Sometimes life is like being on that roller coaster. You take on a new project or a new adventure and right when things get tough you have to stop and rethink.
Use your why as your motivation to always keep going, or in some cases to change paths. Trust your why and never give up yourself.
